Volunteer Support

New Milford Girls Lacrosse depends on volunteers to coach, manage teams and coordinate all aspects of the program.  We welcome your input and time to make the program fun, challenging, and rewarding for the girls.

We welcome new players into our program at all age levels.  We attempt to place each player on a team that will allow allow her to develop as quickly as possible while enjoying the lacrosse experience.   Our "A" level teams consist of our most skilled players who play teams of similar skills.  Our "B" level teams are comprised of newer players and players who the coaches determine will have a better opportunity to improve their skills at this level. A "C" level team is one with newer and developing players.

At the younger levels we understand children are still trying different sports and are tolerant of conflicts.  As the players get older, especially at the junior and senior levels, we ask if they are selected for and "A" team that lacrosse be their first commitment.  As a general rule, playing time at all levels will be determined by attendance at practice and games.  It is unfair to players who have made  the commitment to lacrosse and faithfully come to practice to give them the same playing time as someone who comes occasionally.  Coaches will endeavor to play every player in every game, but amounts of time will be at the discretion of the coaches.

****AS A PROGRAM WE DO NOT ALLOW FOR PLAYERS OF ANY LEVEL TO PLAY DOWN ON A LOWER TEAM.  FOR EXAMPLE;  A JUNIOR PLAYER MAY NOT PLAY ON A BANTAM TEAM OR AN "A" PLAYER MAY NOT PLAY ON A "B" TEAM. ***

Travel Bantams are 2nd, 3rd and some 4th graders who will usually meet two times per week for practice and play one or two games per week in Litchfield and Fairfield Counties.  They play 7 on 7 games.  Depending on the number of players who register, balanced teams will be formed.  Games will usually be scheduled on Saturday and Sunday, with some mid-week games possible.
